Demand Recirculation Controls: The commercial AutoHot DC series provide recirculation pumps with controls that regulate the run–time of the pump based on demand and temperature sensors. The commercial AutoHot is ideal for buildings with central water heating, such as multifamily, hotels, and dorms, and operate differently from the residential version, which use push buttons and motion sensors to activate the system.
The Demand Controls use a combination of ultra-sensitive flow and temperature sensors and a timed sequence that we call ‘AutoPrime’ to reduce pump run time, distribution heat losses and increase overall water heating efficiency by as much as 30% while preserving the service of hot water to occupants in the building.
The on-demand recirculation control reduces pump runtime by as much as 90% by activating at the time that a hot water draw, or demand is initiated in the building and turning off when there is a temperature rise or a set point achieved on the hot water return line. Multiple pump options and activation sensor options are available.
Temperature Modulation Controls: control reduces hot water energy consumption by reducing the supply temperature when hot water demand is determined to be low with an adjustable fixed control schedule.
These control strategies achieve the optimal balance between comfort, water savings and energy efficiency.
